Winter is the time when most sports move indoors. However, more and more often you can see the old school of training, which is based on training outdoors, despite harsh conditions. In this way the hardened body becomes stronger and more resistant. So how should such trainings look like among amateur footballers?
How you work through the winter, so you will play in the season
Soccer is a sport that requires a lot of effort. In the winter season very often amateurs have to give up playing, but this does not mean that they can give up training. On the contrary, the teams put great emphasis on working even harder during the winter, which will translate into better results. Amateur soccer is played without training, so the opportunity when players can go out to train together is a potential that can be used. This way they can work on chemistry and other aspects. Some players claim that winter gives them the opportunity to train in such a way that they don’t have to train until the next preparation period. Of course it is not so colorful, but the fact remains that a well-worked winter period gives great results in the autumn round.
Snow and frost should not discourage us to train. Contrary to appearances they are our allies. Here we should also reassure the players. If the training unit is properly prepared and worked out, the chances of getting sick are very low. In addition, the body hardens during this time, which can be considered a big plus. However, do not forget about common sense. Winter can be very hard on people who work out. Sore muscles should not come as a surprise, since not many amateurs exercise regularly at the gym or even run. All the effort of preparation will certainly pay off during the spring round, and the effects of training will certainly surprise many amateur footballers.
Where to train?
In winter, the question of where football training should take place very often arises. The ideal choice is a combination of sports hall and fresh air. This does not mean at all that it is enough to open the door and make a draft. That would be absurd. Some of the training units should take place indoors and some outdoors. While there is no problem with the former, with the latter type of training the question of how to dress arises again, but we will write about that in the next part of the article.
Winter training has positive influence on our body. There are many advantages of such physical activity, among them
– making ourselves immune to cold,
– learning the benefits of cooling and warming up the body,
– burning calories,
– strengthening the heart,
– providing vitamin D, which is much less in the autumn and winter.
Open space is much more stimulating for football players than training in a sports hall. When training in winter, it is important to remember to hydrate your body properly. Although dehydration is more noticeable in the summer, don’t forget that it also occurs in the colder seasons.
How do I dress for a workout?
The right outfit for a workout is quite a challenge. It is important to remember that an athlete who is dressed too thick will sweat more and his movements will be limited. Then it is easy to overheat or even catch a cold. Too light clothing will make the body not only not toughen up, but also get sick. So what is the golden mean?
When it comes to shoes, they should be chosen according to the ground and the conditions on it. In winter, the so-called “winter boots” are definitely better, i.e. boots with more corks, thanks to which it is easier to maintain balance. In addition, it is worth taking care of the thermoactive underwear, which perfectly wicks away moisture to the outside and provides thermal comfort. On top of the compulsory should be put on a shirt with long sleeves or tracksuit. The same applies to the bottom. Short shorts are not recommended. A much better choice are long pants tucked into leggings. Additional accessories are gloves, a hat and a chimney.
